Default 1996 z28 overheats while sitting

Hi All,
Just put a new rad, water pump, and stat in my stock 1996 Z28 with 92,000 miles. Car runs nice and cool while on hwy. But sitting in the driveway or sitting in traffic and
the needle starts to move towards the red zone! We do hear the fans come on, although not exact sure when.

Anyone have this issue? The black air dam is on the car, I looked under there and checked it.

Thanks
Ken

Assuming you correctly bled all the air out of the system, LT1s tend to run on the hot side. When the car is not moving, there is no air flow through the radiator unless the fans are on, so it's gonna heat up. You might check your engine temps with a scanner and compare to the gauge reading.

My 96 TA never ran hot. Check to see how well the fans are moving air when they come on. Check for trash or debris between the condenser and radiator that could be preventing air from passing.
