Default Caught in the rain

Drove through some downpours the other day, went through some puddles at highway speeds, now the car runs RIDICULOUSLY rich, I drove it home that day and noticed on the highway. The car will start to accelerate but then stumble. Have to be tricky with the throttle to keep up with traffic. Parked it then tried it again yesterday up and down the road, same thing. Feels like a severe misfire. Guessing it's the opti. Have not ran codes yet. Definetly seems electrical and related to the rain....too bad I'm in the process of buying a house or this would have most definetly led to a 24x and a cam

Could be the opti is wet. Doesn’t mean. It’s bad. Just needs to be taken apart and dried out. Also the sensors in the MAF could’ve gotten wet. Any SES light?

With the overlay the previous owner installed I couldnt see any ses lightn on the dash it was really sunny out. Is there any way to dry the opti out without taking it apart? It is vented

I would say no, not enough ventilation to dry it out without disassembly.

What if I encouraged ventilation. Maybe with an air compressor? Although maybe that would damage some opti internals. Just seems like a major pain to take it apart to dry it when I may just have to replace it. I replaced it when I did my waterpump about 4 years ago.

you could use compressed air "gently" through one of the vent ports. Reversing between the 2 vac ports on opti. Unplug vent harness to do this

With that said it may not get all the water out but worth a try. Removing and disassembling opti would be next if that does not work

UPDATE! I got lucky guys. I got my airgun and blew about 10-15psi through the vent tubes for about 15 mins. This is after about 4 days of pretty hot weather which I'm sure did most of the drying out, anyways the car is running good now. I still haven't scanned it...but it seems to be A okay! Thanks for the help guys

I'm glad you got it straight brotha! Also glad you didn't go for the gusto on the compressed air. Initially when you mentioned that I had visions of a grenading Opti lol
