Cooling fan issue

Cooling fan issue 95 z28....Ok so had water pump swapped out but now my fans are not kicking on like they should have power everywhere but at the fans. Touch the relay and kick them on that way but what am I missing????

If it's an LT1 the fans are controlled by the temp sensor in the front of the pump. If the sensor is bad you won't have fans. If the sensor is unplugged the fan stays on. If the connector is loose or corroded you'll get stumbling and surging from the engine.
Also remember that air in the system can insulate the sensor and cause it to read low and that would keep the fans off. After a waterpump change you need to purge alot of air from the system.
Probably not an issue, but did you remember to swap the coupler from the back of the old water pump to the new one? Without that the pump doesn't spin and the gauge will show hot while the radiator stays cold and the fans stay off.
