Is this something to be concerned about? At idle it is barely above the warning line, but jumps right up once I tap the throttle. What should these motors be around for idle oil pressure?
Jumps right up and no fluctuations in pressure then I'd say your okay. Motor could be built on the loose side of things and if your running 5w30 then I could see your pressure being in that range but with something like 15w40 maybe not. My LSX engine gets nothing but 5w30 and it ranges between 50-60 psi through a high volume oil pump with main bearing clearance around .0027 and rods .0025.
In general, should be on the first white mark @800rpm. Are both of those gauge readings at the same rpm? Do you have two different sending units for the different pressure gauges?
Verifying pressures with a mechanical gauge is not a bad idea either.
Both gauges are on different sending units. The dash gauge is on the factory sending unit behind the intake. The pod gauge is off of a sending unit I put in the port on the side of the block. Both readings at same RPM.
