Default How much oil does the timing chain need?

This question is about 8 years too late.

For some reason, after repeatedly changing the crank seal on the timing cover, it still leaks. I have no idea why.

Was thinking maybe the Fluidampr snout diameter was smaller than the stock one. Will have to measure.

Also, can I plug up the 3 holes in the block above the timing chain? Any oil that pools up in the timing cover doesn't drain back correct?

You can plug up the one for the water pump gear, but leave the others open. That is both for oiling the timing chain and oil return. Not sure why it'd be leaking. Perhaps it's out of round and prematurely wearing the seal? Does it leak instantly or take time?
P.S. Get your **** off photobucket and use something like imgur.

When I yank the damper I'll let you know if it's either a smaller diameter or out of round. Never heard of a high end damper being out of round though but I guess it could happen.

Yeah I'll move my stuff somewhere else someday.

No. What's disturbing is, the rear main seal leaks & has been changed as well. Wonder if there's too much crank case pressure.

PCV system in tact, or is it vented somehow? If it is the pressure from the crankcase would have to be overwhelming the ventilation system. Take off your oil fill cap while it's running and see what's happening.
