Default 94 z28 looking for mid length headers

Hey, so I’m looking for mid length headers for a 1994 z28, I’ve tried to buy some MACs but they’re outa business and the other ones I can find don’t have very positive reviews, any suggestions? I was going for long tubes but need the clearance due to roads

I have the macs on my car right now, you gotta find them used. Great header, you will find ppl posting that they seen no gain when switching from the macs to long tubes. Another good header supposedly are As&m mid length headers but i have no experience with them. Also note the good results are from the 93-94 style macs, the 95-96 style have headers primaries that have really weird turns in them.
I might be selling my mac mids soon because im thinking about doing a true dual exhaust set up this spring.

I could be interested in buying them.
could I buy the as&m new or only used? And any thought on pacesetter mid lengths?

They still make the occasional run of Macs through group purchases - I remember seeing a GP thread here a few years ago. I bought mine used and had fitment problems - the flanges were warped and the collector didn't line up with the y-pipe that came with it. It took a lot of massaging to get them on and ground clearance is definitely worse. I don't know the history of the car they were pulled from though - a wreck may have tweaked them. I haven't driven the car much since installing so hard to separate power gains from increased exhaust noise but it seems stronger. Spark plug clearance is awesome too.

i just installed a set of macs. went in pretty easy. i had intallation issues on the passenger side because my motor mounts are shot. between that and being lowered, ground clearance isnt great. im debating on rubber or poly mounts right now. either should take care of the ground clearance issue. i can also shim up the motor on the mounts if needed as well. i dont have more than 10 minutes seat time before the install so i cant comment on power increase. getting a solomon tune in the next few months though. should help a lot.

I guess it may depend on the headers you use in combination with your engine mounts, tranny crossmember etc. My current setup is Kooks long tubes, Prothane mounts and MWC tranny crossmember. My header collectors are pretty snug up against the floor and for a lowered car with 3" duals I have really really good ground clearance. At this point I honestly can't imagine that I had a ton more with the factory y pipe. The tranny crossmember really pulled my headers up tight when I switched to it over the BMR that used to be on the car. So... Having said that sometimes it's parts selection that counts the most but I also understand that Kooks headers are very expensive and that might not be a budget option.

Pics of my MACS and y-pipe.
20k miles on them, zero leaks, perfect spark plug access, and excellent ground clearance.
Car traps 108-110mph with these headers and a small 215/224 cam and stock un ported heads.

Pretty sure Mac midlengths have always been the top choice. See if you can't find some used somewhere.
Is your car lowered? Mine is and I've had LT's on mine for 20 years.

I originally had JBA 1-5/8" headers, switched to SLP stainless 1-3/4". The JBA's were more solidly built and heavier, but smaller. The SLP's are good, my only complaint is plug access on #5 - I run a shorty plug there. I doubt you can buy either new any more, but perhaps on the used market. My car is lowered and I've scraped 'em a few times but none too bad.

my car is on bilstein shocks and bmr springs with all new polyurethane bushings, the car sits now for where I am and am just worried the long tubes would get scraped through
