Default Where to get a tach filter?

I'm retrofitting a factory cluster into my 93 which previously only had an Autometer tach and a voltmeter installed. I noticed in my FSM that there is a tach filter that goes between the coil and the tach. I doubt the Painless harness in the car ever had one to begin with. I can see the F bodies had one on the passenger bank near the front of the engine, weird place. I doubt I'll ever find an LT1 at the pull and pay, could find one in a barge on a lucky weekend, but did they ever even come factory with a tach? Any aftermarket options? Any way to make my own? Anyone have a harness they're willing to butcher? Can I live without it?

According to this thread, tach filter was 93 only.

https://www.firebirdnation.com/forum...ground-points/

Found its its real location in my FSM thanks to that thread.

No my dash I believe is a 94 or 95, were there 93 only dashes? Seeing how they all used the same coils, I imagine I can just pipe the signal right into my factory dash, right?

I googled the cluster I have and this came up.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/93-96-CAMAR...-/392317233347

That's about all that came up. Strange that 93 used a filter but 94-96 didn't. So did 97 get the newer style dash then?

97 got the newer style dash. You can run a 97 cluster from a camaro or a 93-97 cluster from firebird/transam. in 98+ they changed over to canbus and those need the BCM from the car. so I have a 94 car with a 97 cluster as an example that I rewired.

Did the 98 cars have a BCM? I know that was a 1 year cluster for the LS with the steel gas tank and a coolant temp gauge that wasn't controlled by the PCM. I ask because I intend to LS swap at some point. I do have a newer dash shell in good condition in my donor tub but it's saddled with a V6 cluster and I have a 98 LS cluster on the shelf. I could probably get all but the tach working on that 98 cluster if it doesn't need a BCM talking to it.

98 is really weird. you have 98 clusters that have analog and digital readouts. same for 97. I have both and couldn't tell you what years they are from now. i bought all mine in early 2000s so don't recall anymore.

98 did have a BCM. Cousin has a 98 Z that had a bad connection in the BCM that he had to repair so yes, 98 definitely has a BCM.

I know an LT cluster can be adapted to work with an LS, I'll have to ask a guy I know who's already done it.

98 predates Canbus, but I know there were buses that came before can anyway. Anywhere I can find a schematic for the bastard 98 year? LT1swap has pinouts of the PCM and engine harness but that's it for 98 on that site.
