Default New Design A/C Compressor

It seems Four Seasons has a revised design for our A/C compressor. Part No. 88955. Has anyone tried it? A/C work any better?

My compressor needs replacing I was also wondering about this new four seasons one. Leaning towards the Delphi CS0223 but will consider this if it's any good.

I run the 88969 with the same upgrades in my G20 van with a dual evaporator system. Blows ICE cold on both ends.

Just getting mine installed as we speak. Will test it out and provide update once car is back on the road.

The tech did reccomend Delphi over Four Seasons but I mentioned this is supposed to be a better design to prevent future leaks etc, time will tell I guess. If it does crap out after warranty then will definitely get Delphi next time.

So far so good, ice cool air it blows. Don't notice any other difference other than it not leaking. The old compressor was a rebuilt previous owner had put in which was poorly rebuilt as seals were all leaking at the seams.

Will see how this holds up in the long run.

I’ve either got to remove or replace my compressor. Rockauto seems to list several variants of AC Delco compressors, but the only one that seems to cross reference to the part number listed on the GM sites is $800+. I’m not sure if the compressors are all the same, or if there are important differences.

Did you guys replace your condenser. What did you do about capturing refrigerant, oil etc.? I’ve never really messed with any HVAC stuff and haven’t had a chance to do much research.

All i have ever replaced is the dryer since reading it can’t or shouldn’t be flushed. The rest of the system can. If i ever had any refrigerant i’d have it evacuated and put back in after doing whatever it was required to drain it.
Bought this one three years ago and so far so good:

Did you have it installed or do it yourself? The removal/install sounds simple enough, but I’m not really equipped to deal with the refrigerant.

I did it myself. The only real PITA was unfastening/fastening the lines and support mount bolts on the back of the compressor while it was still mounted. Took a little fandangling to get it out, but it was dooable with the sway bar still bolted up. It’s heavy so watch your face. Also don’t trust the tag that says it’s full of oil. Check for yourself.
Yeah I have a shop take care of the refrigerant. Expensive, but one less thing to deal with.
