24x Firing Order Programmable?
I've installed EFI 24x conversion on my 97 Camaro and have had a ton of issues trying to get it to start and run smoothly. To start, can anyone confirm that the LT1 firing order can be programmed into the 2002 PCM with HP Tuners? I haven't seen anyone post that they programmed the firing order but my tuner is quite certain that it can be done and that he's done it before on another conversion. Anyone?
I recall reading that the firing order you reference was for misfire detection and bank identification? So what you are saying is that my tuner has the correct firing order for the fuel but not the spark? Hard to tell if one could assume the engine could still run. I can get the engine to run but it doesn't sound right. No pinging, just not the sounds I was expecting after the upgrade (24x, heads/cam, etc). And the other thing I've noticed is how rich it's running (which I know could be due to a large number of things). I've got soot from plugs all the way back to the tailpipe from less than 2hrs run time and 2 miles on the odometer.
Has anyone had experience NOT hard wiring the LT1 firing order into the PCM?

I agree with what AdsoYo said.
Been there done that.
No way around hardwiring coils and injectors. Nos 2&3 and 7&4 have to be swapped.
If your wiring harness was from EFI connection you dont need to do anything, they take care of that.
If you built your own harness you should have done this injector/coil swap.
The injector to bank assignment table in the PCM is only used to correct closed loop operation fueling corrections.
