Default Terminator X, TH conversion on a 93, gathering info

Trying to get some info together. A good friend of mine has a 93 Z28 that I built an engine for years ago, probably 15 or so.

We were going to do the TH 411 conversion, but as I suspected, 93 isn't supported due the chip PCM and wiring harness differences.

So I'm thinking about doing Holley EFI and use the TH crank/cam setup instead.

I've googled it and found a really good video on YouTube from a guy who did it.

It seems like a relative easy conversion. Has anyone done it?

Thanks for the info.

Yes.

Its only somewhat tricky if you want to have OE cluster remain working.

On a 93, doesn't everything go straight to the cluster and not through the PCM or BCM like on later model stuff?

I need to look at a wiring diagram.

Correct, so you will need
1) to have two harnesses lay on the motor, and buy a dakota digital conversion for holley tach out to drive factory speedo
2) make a custom harness strictly for dash, and buy a dakota digital conversion for holley tach out to drive factory speedo
3) Buy the EFIconnection kit that makes a custom harness for running holley and stock cluster

Or, spend the coin and grab a holley dash and remove factory cluster all together.

I haven't had a chance to look at a wiring diagram yet but if....

If everything goes straight to the cluster.
1. Why do I need two harnesses laying on the motor?
2. It can't take that much to run a dash on a 93
3. Their stuff is nice but seem extremely overpriced, but if I was doing it, I would charge a lot too.

This 93 can't be that much different than my 89.

Maybe I'm missing something.

I'm not being a dick, maybe I am actually missing something.

Factory harness runs the motor and has the wiring to get sender signal to the cluster. The Holley harness has nothing that would work for the OEM dash outside of a tach signal output.

So you need to make a new harness that will grab oil pressure, temp, and voltage if you want to have the factory cluster work. Otherwise you are stuck with using the factory harness for that stuff and laying the holley harness on top of it to run motor.

I gotcha. I wasn't thinking about at the wires for the sending units as a harness.

The Holley Units are meant to be stand alone and don't integrate into anything factory. You will have to find a means to run the gauges as Shownomercy as pointed out. I have a Holley Dominator in my 97 Camaro and used all Autometer Gauges when i originally did it. At some point will most likely pull those gauges and put in a Holley dash. I removed all the factory wiring and use an aftermarket panel to power everything. It's not just a plug and play deal. You still have some work to do. I use the EFI Connections 24x reluctor for the signal for the Holley and has Racewire Solutions build my panel for powering everything. If you run aftermarket gauges you can picky back the signal from the sensors on the Holley or create custom outputs. Not sure how many outputs are available on the Terminator X. Ripping everything out and not using the factory cluster or wiring did makes things much easier and cleaner at the end.

Termy limits you to 4 outputs, I would not burn them to run factory guages.

Definitely not worth it in that case. I would just do a Holley dash and call it a day.
