Default Replacing Headers

Thinking about replacing my rusted HOOKER super competition long tube headers and looking for advise.
I´ve had good results with Speed Engineering headers in LS1 applications the past. Don't know how they fit in the LT1 configuration, anyway they seem to be out of stock for now.
All the ones available thru ebay are in the same price range (under $200). Makes me wonder about quality and fitment.
This is for an M6 1997 Camaro.
I would not mind paying double that for a good quality set.
Thanks for your valued input

My pacesetter offroad application fits quite well in my 95.

My pacesetters in my 97 were originally with emissions (I ended up cutting them off and welding them up and recoating years later). They fit decent, but I had to dent the #1 primary to get one of the bolts to fit.

The headers in the 95 were purchased many years after the 97. I don't know if the non-emission set is built better or pacesetter builds their more recent headers better or if it's just a crap shoot with cheap headers.

I would try one of the cheap stainless variants. I found these in less than 60 seconds, but I can't speak to their quality. I know people have had good luck with some of the cheap stainless headers, but I'm not exactly sure what's available anymore.

Looks like the headers you’re referring to are stainless, so never mind.

I'm running the Speed Engineering headers also on my LT1 A4. I agree with above and thought the fit was great. I would just suggest upgrading the gaskets and header bolts in place of what they give you.

Thanks for the reply guys. I pretty much wanted the Speed Engineering headers, but they are out of stock for now. I guess I will wait a while to see if they show up again before buying. As I stated before, they have been great on the LS1. I really wanted some feedback on their LT1 version.

If you haven't purchased headers yet, their website shows they are back in stock.

As far as Ebay Headers I ran there full exhaust on my C5 and they held up amazingly and the fitment was great. I would recommend better gaskets. Ive also heard the LT1 were fine as well.
