Pin Driven Optispark Upgrade. I am working on doing H/C for my 1994 Y-Body. The current optispark is spline driven and I wanted to use the Petris Enterprises pin driven opti conversion to change it so I wouldn't have to modify the pin on the cam I am getting. These units are completely out of stock however and I don't know when they will be in. Does anybody know another way of doing this?

Thanks for the reply. I already have a new timing cover, hub, reluctor, crank shaft position sensor et al. to make it work with it. I would like to move to the vented pin driven system. If my opti does go out then I would be stuck with the old system. I also plan on doing a 383 build in the future and would like to keep my cam unmodded so I can potentially sell it for a little more when I move to a bigger one. If you still believe I am better off sticking with the old system however please let me know and I will take it into consideration.

If your cam is stock, it probably has a small hole in the middle of the nose. That won't work with a vented (pin drive) opti. Cam would have to be changed.
