electric water pump question.

I have a mezeire electric water pump. What I'm wondering is does rtv sealer need to be put the edges during the install or will the o ring gasket be enough?

No, but I did super thin layer further out around the bolt holes 14 years ago because the surface had some questionable marks and there were no leaks or failures. The replacement pump also got a new-to-me housing with no marks on the mating surface so I didn't bother. Hasn't leaked but also hasn't been driven much in the last 4 years.

I used a thin layer of this 30,000 miles ago and no leaks with my meziere 118hd.

I had to take one apart that had RTV on it, good lord did that suck separating the EWP from housing.

New EWP went on sans RTV

Beats me, it was a used setup that came with motor way back in the day.

I installed mine without any sealant of any kind. I just torqued it to 106in/lbs as it called for. now I'm wondering if i should take it back off and put a thin layer rtv on the edges. i though that if its torqued to spec the rubber o ring should be enough to seal it. I mean that is its job.
