Default New Gen2 LT1 Bolt On Record

New Gen2 LTx Bolt On Record: 11.415 @ 116.56

Bail Money took the record tonight running multiple sub 11.481 (previous record set by Tom Cowle in 2006) passes tonight in 15-18xx" DA air tonight. The idea to try and get this record came to me as I was nearing having the car ready to race, and still had my race motor in the red car. Bail Money had a stock LT1 in it to use as a mock up engine while getting everything purchased and fit in preparation for running some 7 second ETs. So I just fired up the old engine and we gave it hell

Rear end: Moser 12 bolt, Spool, 4.30 gears
Front Suspension: BMR K Member and A Arms, Qa1 single adjustable shocks, Aerospace brakes
Rear Suspension: Burkhart Chassis tq arm, Top Notch LCA and Panhard Bar, Viking DA rear Coil Overs, BMR Anti Roll Bar

Thanks to everyone that has had a hand on the car to help me. Couldn't have done it without you guys.

So ‘bolt-on’ LT1 cars today weigh as much as a Ford Pinto, have a cage, no alternator, no accessories, full race suspension, and transmissions that didn’t even come with the car?

You have been a damn good role model here for years. I watch your YouTube channel to get motivated to work on my car a lot. You’ve earned this keep it up!

... is the aftermarket block still happening?

yep... the car still weighs more than others on the list, and the TH400 is slowing the car down compared to a 60e/700r4.

the suspension parts are the exact same stuff I ran on my street cars

This makes me happy. Texas has always had some of the fastest LT1 cars in the nation dating back to the early/mid 90’s. Car sites with enough members to have their own dedicated sub forum and more activity than any of the other forums combined. Way to represent!

Have been there many times for Friday Night TnT in the late 90's. Always experienced about a .3 second improvement at HRP over Ennis.
