Default Ls intank lid

Im wanting to hook up my intank on my 98 camaro that has a lt1 in it i used to just have a piece of flexible hose that connected to the old engine but im putting a maf on the new engine!

I seen on a video a guy used a piece of 4 or 4 1/2 pipe and used a hammer on it to get the pipe to fit the oval shape that the air lid has when u take the factory duct off that is behind the lid. I think the slp intank has a round and does away with the factory parts if im not mistaking, but what all do i need to make the slp lid to work or any lid that flows more and do i need a granatelli maf fo more flow?

Engine is 355 with 306 cam and lt4 rpm head from edelbrok and edelbrok lt4 intank.

Do what now? Put the hammer down lol are you talking about the Air Lid setup? I used the LS airbox and SLP lid from a previous car I sold and used the Ram Air rubber flex for the LT1 [purchased from hawks] to connect the throttle body to the MAF. From my research from SHBOX, the MAF part numbers are identical between LT and LS....

If it were me, I'd just get the SLP lid or equivalent than use the Factory GM anyway. Flows better and looks cleaner to me. But if your set on the factory lid, why couldn't you use the lid and "air silencer" piece that the Factory lid connects to that holds the MAF on the LS car? Then hook the lt1 style coupler I mentioned above to connect the MAF to TB?
