Flowmasters I have a quick question, I bought a 95 LT1 Camaro a few months ago and the previous owner put flowmasters on the car, first of all i was wondering if flowmasters acted the same on an LT1 as they do on an LS1 or do they increase HP on an LT1?? thanks

While flowmaster catbacks don't flow as well as most aftermarket catbacks, they're definitely an improvement over the stock catback. If you like the sound, it's not worth changing it out unless it starts to rot from the weather- in which case you should swap it out for a stainless steel catback.

I would think that Flowmaster's would perform the same on any kind of car. Horsepower is increased but not significantly... maybe 2 or 3 at the rear wheels. That would be the same for the LT1 or LS1. And that would also be the same regardless of brand. The only real difference between brands is sound and how much exhaust flows through the pipes. The favorite's on this board seem to be GMMG or true duals. GMMG is a pricey brand and I've heard that true duals are quiet but loud when they need to be. I personnaly chose the Loudmouth from SLP because nothing I've heard sounds louder and the flow numbers are pretty good. Also, because not everybody likes them. It's also the cheapest cat-back out there.
I had a flow master and it rotted and turned to trash, I switched over to a LM and couldnt feel any difference. If I was you, just get a cut out and leave it be. If I had to do it all over again, stock cat back with a cut out and leave it be.

Same with me and the Flowmaster, my old one rotted and I swapped over to a Borla. I didn't feel a performance difference, just a sound difference. I love the Flowmaster sound, I just wish they were stainless steel.
