Header Wrap Questions
Header Wrap Questions I've got my motor out right now and waiting on parts so I'm looking to take care of any projects I can. I'm considering header wrap. My last set of headers were mild steel and ceramic coated. My current ones are bare stainless and under hood temps are considerably higher. I've seen the basic pros and cons to header wrap but I'm looking for real world experiences. I've seen people say it causes headers to rust fast and crack but what if they're stainless? Does anyone know of a before and after dyno test?

I had header wrap on my last turbo hotside (mild steel) and again now on the new 304SS setup. I haven't found any issues with cracking or other structural issues.
Make sure you get good wrap, I like the DEI lava stuff and skip the clamps it recommends and go right to SS hose clamps. Header primaries will be a bitch to wrap, I will say that.
