Have no idea where this part came from but stumbled upon it hidden underneath my floor mat. It’s evenly curvy bent 90 degrees each way. Any ideas?

From the size, I guess it's from the 12V cigarette lighter socket. The console exploded diagram on shbox.com shows the socket as an assembly, doesn't give a view of individual parts. Probably from the back side, between the collar/ nut and the plastic housing. I've had my Firebird console out a few times but never noticed a washer. But I'm definitely not the original owner so it may have disappeared long ago, if it indeed was ever there.

I don't think it's from the cigarette lighter assembly. My panel for it is broke and nothing like that ever showed up when I took it apart. Looks like wave washer/spring from something. I have a manual....so I'm not sure what might be under the automatic console that might or might not need that part.

Looks like the wave washer in the steering column. Don’t remember the exact stack order but it should be somewhere between the lock plate, air bag clock spring, and horn contact.

Yep, that's probably it. Right under the clock spring.

this makes sense. When my ignition switch and key cylinder froze I had some so called mechanic (poor attitude, acted like it was the cars fault, should of done it myself which later I ended up doing the switch all over myself) he must of forgot to put that piece back in.

the steering column makes a weird screathing noise when I turn sometimes. I would assume that washer has something to do with it, spacing.

thanks guys
