fun times with fuel injectors.
I recently built a rear turbo setup on my 93 trans am. I've been driving it around for a few weeks just to sort the bugs out. On a 7psi wastegate spring its opening at 4 psi. No big I'm ok with that being I haven't done much with the fuel yet. I see the afr's go to 12.3:1 at 4psi with stock injectors and pump. I bet it still added around 100hp at the flywheel. It pulls much harder now. I went to upgrade my injectors to a bosch 42lb (looks like a ls1 style injector) it has a skinny body on it with a ev1 style connector on it. I noticed when I lined it up next to the stock injectors it was about 3 mm or so shorter tan the stockers. I thought well thats not great but it might not matter. I was wrong! I put them in and started the car. It ran fine for a min or two then sprug a crazy leak right at the fuel rail when I revved it a bit. Moral of the story make sure the injectors are exact. I just ordered a new set that looks the same as the stockers (fat body on them)and new injector retainers. . Hopefully these will work. when I get the fueling right I will start upping the boost to 7-9psi.

Good catch, that couldve went south fast. I'm looking to build a rear mount for my 95z to keep the engine bay looking mostly stock for CA emissions. Do you have pictures of your setup?

Looks pretty sweet.. Have you considered a aero tray under the front with a NACA duct(s) in it,, ?? Could help pull air through the intercooler.. And help suck air from the engine compartments..

This is actually some older pics from when I first put it together. I did put some ducts and mesh in the front now. I'm waiting for my injectors to get here so I can get it out for a drive before the snow gets here. The intake temps seems to be good when I drove it before but i did notice the intercooler was getting warm to the touch. I think the ducting will help it cool a bit better. I'm kinda at the mercy of shipping and weather now to get it dialed in a bit before it gets put away for winter.
