I made the decision to switch to a ProCharger next year. The Motor Is a Forged 383 with 12-1 compression and ported factory heads/intake with 24X on E85. I spoke with Bob at Brute speed and told him my goal was 800-900 WHP He suggested an F1A and a cog set up, so thats what I ordered. How many of you guys have tried an F1A? It looks like the F1A94 is very popular but I cant find near as much info on the F1A. I am set up with a 77- 40 so that blower will be working pretty hard.

The F-1A came out 15 to 18 years ago, and has been a great blower. I used one on my '99 Z28 when we ran it in the first LSX Shootout in Memphis. It made the cover of two magazines, when it stood up on the rear bumper (by accident) at that race. 800 to 900 whp is right where this blower shines. Bob

Are you going to run it at that compression? Changing anything on the engine (e.g. cam)? I've been thinking about making a similar move but I'm at 12.4:1 396. I know a lot of variables, but how realistic and what boost levels at that compression on E85 and 24x or Holley?
It is a Gen 2 Lt1 car so there werent many options for a heavy duty bracket. I am going to keep it the same for now as far as compression and the N/A cam, and tuning will be 24X and HPT. No idea what to expect for boost lol...maybe 18# ?. I have a big FMIC and with the E85 and conservative timing, I am hoping for the best. Planning to swap pulleys if its too much.

Sounds like a plan! I would probably get 50 gallon drums of E85 to be safe but I still drive the car to the track so that would be an issue for me not having fuel for the return trip home. Are you planning/did you do a plastic tank swap? What's the rest of your fuel setup (e.g. injectors, pump, lines)?
Not to change your direction or take business away from Bob, purely an educational question, but did you consider going turbo and if you did, reasons for going ProCharger?

Thanks! Best of luck. Should be fun.
It is a a sumped factory tank with -8 feed line to an A1000 (I have 2 A1000's if necessary), external regulator, modded factory rails to -6 return. FIC 1200's from Brute speed will be my next purchase. I have considered getting drums of E85 for quality assurance, but its available at the pump everywhere around me.
Honestly, I went with a ProCharger because I rode in a friends C6 with D1X and it was very impressive, but mostly because I have lots of time and money invested building a custom header back Exhaust that turned out really nice and I refuse to give it up lol. I rode in a hood exit exhaust turbo car and the drone was terrible for cruising around town so that is the main reason.

I have a F1A on my setup. Bob is very knowledgeable and who I went through for my setup. F1A runs very well. I have had it for a while now and may send it in for an upgrade to the F1A94. I don’t have any numbers to share but setup is 383, AFR 227 Heads with additional work, TH400, 237/251 .632/.614 114 cam, Holley Dominator, MagnaFuel 4303, Sump Tank, etc.
Probably be changing to a cog setup here soon and solid roller. Still considering the upgrading bracket from SDCE Concepts as well.
F1A makes plenty of power and really is a good unit. Very happy with it.
I run a House of Boost Cog setup with a proprietary bracing system a friend and I designed to eliminate flex. As thick as their bracketry is I still managed to flex it on my F1 setup. Flexed it so bad I flipped the cog belt upside down and shredded away half the thickness of the belt. LOL I also double pinned the crank pulley to the ATI damper instead of using the 3 bolts that would normally bolt into the hub of the crank. Takes the stress off the bolts. I also drilled holes into the grooves of the blower pulley and crank pulley of the Cog as Erik from HOB say the belt traps air in between the pullies and belt. Haven't had an issue since. 80/40 is what I went with, I want to step up to an F1x but the old F1 does just fine.
Thanks for all the replies! Anybody care to share their times and or boost psi? Mine finally came yesterday after an 8 week wait. It looks really nice 👌

Fits like a square peg in a round hole lol. But its starting to come together.
What's with 2nd plate attached to the head? Did you build that? Never seen that done before, interesting. Is the plate somehow attached to the frame well too?
$2500 and 6 months later...
Ended up going Magna Fuel 4303, and FIC 1200's.
-12 from sumped factory tank to the pump then -10 feed and -8 return and a dual relay.
