I am looking for everyone's opinion on piston preference. I am in the process of a 383 build and was curious of what other people have had success and failure with? I am running 0 deck and have 52cc combustion chambers so planning on running 15cc pistons to bring compression to around 11.5:1. I am currently working with Lloyd Elliot on the cam for it and am hoping to order the pistons this week.
Hyper-u's? I have no idea. I've been running the same JE forged pistons now for the last 15 years with the intention of going with nitrous, but never did.
My 383 has Weisco forged pistons. Can safely run with a tighter ring gap on a forged piston. Mine is just a tow pig based off a L31 with a 6" rod aluminum head 383 at 11:1. ~500 hp with the Lloyd Elliot ported heads and a little 218/228 @ 0.050 on a 108 LSA roller cam with 1.7 rockers for .578 lift.
