Those are conical springs in the article, which are different from beehives.

Lt4 springs GM PN is 12495494. Double check what you bought. If you did in fact get them brand new that cheap, congrats. I couldn't find a set anywhere this morning when I checked.

Original LT4 GM valve springs were designed for lighter, sodium filled, valves used in LT4 motors, not LT1. They are not an upgrade to stock LT1 valve springs...they are a step back. LT1 valves are heavier. They will "fit" but their life will be shorter than new GM LT1 valve springs

I found them on C6 Performance. When i look now it says product not found. Yes the part number was the same. So far they don't return emails or answer phone calls. Seems pretty bush league for a company that caters to the corvette crowd. Hopefully I'm not out $100 bucks.

With the Comp 787-16 retainers, they should drop right in. You just need to make sure the spring has clearance around the valve guide boss and you want to verify the install height.

In regards to the choices, just keep in mind that you are running a stock camshaft. You don't want springs that are designed to handle aggressive cam lobes and high lifts. That's just energy wasted by the motor to overcome the higher pressures.

I looked into thin787 retainers... over $100 just for the retainers alone seems steep

They're $63 on Amazon?

Either way, I gave you four valve spring options earlier in the thread. If you don't want to buy the retainers for the beehive springs, then there were three other drop-in options.

Can't say myself if they drop fit LT1 as I've never used any on one but I have L98 alum 128 heads and vortec. Still should be easy to google n find out if people are.

Comp 787-16 use to be $50ish but seen them for $70ish or if lucky cheaper like mentioned Amazon $63 But prices do fluctuate on Amazon. Just bought some valves for $54 and now they are $52 but others have them for $79 or higher.

I got super lucky n scored 1787-16 for $45 and I know they are legit cause I have a few sets already. Tho this set a few had a bit of pitting on the tops, n very very light rust. Nothing the tumbler couldn't fix and I'll use em on a mild project anyway. I'd trust em over moly still, Tool steel is Nice! Doesn't wear nearly as much as moly or other steel retainers.

I even got 10 sets of Titanium atm, you don't wanna know what I paid for those LOL

Years ago, I ordered 787-16 retainers and Comp accidentally packaged 10 degree versions. I still have them on a shelf somewhere.

Tool steel is the way to go these days. It is only a slight weight penalty over titanium, but has the wear characteristics of a standard steel retainer.

FYI Summit has some near identical to the comp 787(prob made same place as comp's) beehive retainers. When I found them on Summits site, I almost came back to this thread and posted them. Glad I didn't at first since they had a HUGE mix up!
