true duel setup with headers?

Default true duel setup with headers?

Does anyone know where to find a true duel exhaust system with the headers for the lt1?

Are you looking for a direct bolt-in or something you can make work? On my 96 I ran the Speed Engineering LT1 long tubes and their LS1 True Dual kit. The only big modification I had to make was the driver side bend to the x-pipe, the rest bolted up. It was very loud behind a heads/cam combo LT1.

I was hoping to find a direct bolt in but I don't think that's going to happen. How much did you need to modify it and what did you have to do exactly?

Take a look at pictures of the LS1 True Dual kit from Speed Engineering. The driver side from the collector has a different angle than the LT1 header. You would have to make a new piece from the collector to the x-pipe, or cut up and modify the piece with the kit. I chose to just make a new piece. I bolted up and loose fit the passenger side to get measurements. Just measure from the driver collector down to where it would bend toward the x-pipe and you'll know what size you need. I used a stainless piece with a 90 degree bend. Having a welder makes it easier. It wasn't hard, but does take some slight fabricating. I also used the BMR panhard and panhard relocation to allow for the room. It was a tight fit back there, and it does sit low, and it is very loud.

I think i will be making this a project for another time. I don't expect it to affect the tune I'm having put on and I'm putting about 10k into the car as is so adding 2k for a full exhaust is not really something I'm wanting to do right now. I will keep this in mind though and hopefully get this done within the year. Thank you for the advice i didn't think about using an ls1 system.

You'll have to get at least part of it fabricated. It will help if you have the BMR or UMI panhard brace relocation.

It's totally worth doing if you don't already have a catback.

I have the XS Power 1 3/4" - 1 7/8" headers and the Speed engineering over the axle true dual kit and I'm going tho use the driver side pipe from the Y-pipe that cam with the headers instead of the LS pipe from the true dual kit.

It will not, for the same reasons as Speed Engineering system, because it was designed for LS1. But it shouldn’t be too complicated to adapt.
That said, I have Blackheart system on my Trans Am. Good quality.
