LT1-LT4 Modifications 1993-97 Gen II Small Block V8

Default Torn between what to do.

LT1 block, LT4 crank and rods, forged pistons, aluminum edelbrock heads ported, aftermarket cam, edelbrock intake ported. I Put in new spark plugs, at the gap of .035, car ran rough at idle, I have to two foot it at stop signs, and it cuts power/loses power when I heavily accelerate. I changed the gap from .035 to .050 and it still does the same thing. So I’m assuming it is the opti spark. Currently has MSD one on it. I plan on spraying a 150 to 200 shot on this motor. When I do blow this motor I do plan on LS swapping it. What I am torn on deciding is don’t feel like putting the money into the torque head 24X system, because it won’t be useable with the new motor set up when that comes. Do I just mess around with another MSD OPTi? Or try some other different brands? Thanks for any input.

The thing is, I had a green 1994Z 28 and it ran great. It then got totalled by a drunk driver, I swapped everything from the green car into a blue 96, that’s the ECU the engine harness engine transmission and all of that. Ever since doing that it’s ran rough. I had to do the conversion thing people have done for putting a 94 motor (obd1) into a 96 car (obd2) since I didn’t change any parts and only had to convert some wiring, I didn’t think it should change how the engine runs at all. Am I in the wrong?

So it was never tuned for all this?

I’m assuming the previous owner tuned the car because it ran perfect before the crash and before swapping everything over. I didn’t change anything tuning wise or engine wise during the swap, so it makes no sense to me why it would run different. Beside changing the plugs

I would double and triple check all my grounds and connections are right. If it ran right before being transplanted, and not doesn't seems like something that got messed up in the swap, broken CTS sensor, poor ground, etc.

Did you swap the fuel pump and all that too? Perhaps new cars pump is on its way out. Check simple things like grounds, fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, etc.
