So, turns out neighbor few more houses down is a welder. Weve struck out because we dont have some good nuts on hand to weld to the stud. But hes got all the goods, just a busy ****. I heard some bacon and chose to be nosy. Pretty sure we can get it, or worst case scenario i bail on the project and part it out. Only in it 2400$ after getting the headers on eBay, new clutch slave assembly and plugs wires and buying the car. Well a bit more for the trailer rental. Or do a full gasket job on it and remove the head.

The kicker is the busted quarter panel. It drives straight though. It was 100% stock besides the **** paint job and repairs. Is an original WS6 though....world going to hell but i still love the Pontiacs....

Original intention was to take the trans and hood+ram air and part the rest out. I want a convertible, i want to put my energy and effort and money into a convertible. But i dont like seeing these cars die. It was me and Mom's favorite car. Well the Trans Am. 96-97 because the commercials were cool and she always loved firebirds.

Should i just part it out? Ran and drove fine, rough misfire from bad cats and burnt wires. Unmolested essentially besides the quarter panel which looks early 00s at the latest. Parting it out helps others survive i guess. Wife thinks i should to invest time in effort into other stuff i keep talking about. And she's not wrong. Engine still good just the stupid stud thats about to snap flush.

Calling it quits. Even with an oxy torch, its not budging. They're fused together. Needs to be properly drilled out and possibly rethreaded. Bummer but it is what it is. Just a nub left that not big enough to grab anymore. Hookers and blow.
