Accessory drive...feeling dumb
Late last fall I picked up a 97 RS for a pretty decent deal. Decided I wanted to put in a V8, my local junk yard had an LT1 tranny/harness and K member they sold me for a good deal.
Tore engine down to just inspect it make sure it was in good shape, and put back in all new gaskets and seals. The down side was the engine had no accessory drive on it, just the PS pump.
Friend who manages the junk yard said no problem, we've got an old iron block out of a caprice you can come grab the accessory drives. Me being a noob to this knew nothing.
Well this sucks, the alternator and power steering definitely don't line up with the crank pulley. I have searched ebay, and junk yards around where I live in Canada have nothing for the TA/Camaro LT1, 3400 and 3800 are a dime a dozen.
Does anybody know of an aftermarket kit that is reasonable in price? Or another possible solution/engine that might be compatible? Jegs and summit have little that won't cause my wife to try and suffocate me in my sleep.
Now I am trying to locate a PS reservoir.
