Default Cruise control activated itself

Was driving at about 80mph and let off the throttle and it stayed there. Wasn’t until I punched the throttle and let off that it acted normal. Did this twice today!

cruise control switch was off and nothing stuck in the throttle plates.

The TB cable and/or shaft which holds the butterflies on the TB could be sticking. Check the bores on the TB to see if they are gummed up.

I'm having a similar issue. My car will drive 40 MPH with my foot off the gas. Stock throttle body too.I disconnected my cruise control cable in the meantime until I have time to properly diagnose/fix.
