Default Does Nitrous make a pretty big difference on an LT1?

Well, I've been toying with the idea of getting a nitrous kit for my WS6 for awhile, but I don't know much about them. Someone told me a while back that you don't really notice a big difference in SOTP when using it. It's hard for me to imagine spraying 100-150 shot of N20 and not being able to "feel" it. Can experienced LT1 nitrous lovers please clear this up for me? Thanks in advance!

Hmmm... a 150 shot would plant a stock LT1 probably in the low 12s..high 11s?? (Guys feel free to jump in here).. if you cant tell a difference in power.. your on some good drugs

Say you run a 14.0....then with nitrous you run a 12.6

If you don't feel that, like S8ER95Z said, something is wrong

With a 50 shot or so you kind of notice it. With a good 100 or 150 you feel it!! I mean it's not like unreal power difference or anything. It's just like all of a sudden your car just takes off. It just startes accelerating harder. But not unreal feeling. Now start stepping up the bigger shots. 175-200. Yea you start to say DAMN!!!
Do it you will like it! (nitrous)

Well, a 100-150 shot will definitely not put an otherwise stock LT1 anywhere near high 11s, but it will definitely make a difference. You should be way deep into 13s and possibly in a high 12 if you can drive and your car runs strong.

Is there a way to tell what size shot of nitrous you have?

I bought the car a couple years ago and the guy told me it was a 150 shot, but it doesn't seem like it provides THAT much power, the way you people have been talking, it almost sounds more like a 75 shot :dunno:

What? Your sure your talking about an Lt1 and not a six right? High 12s, my friends bolt on v6 hit that on a 100 shot. LT1s make the best most awesome nitrous cars no doubt about it. On a 150 shot a LT1s with the most basic stuff (Cat back, cold air, basic suspension mods) should hit very low 12s easy on tires. A simple cat back cold air LT1 should be able to run deep 13s on a 2.0 sixty. If you have a 150 shot and only going high 12s some thing is wrong. Theres been plenty of bolt on LT1s that have hit deep in to the 11s with full bolt ons and a 150 shot. Racin LT1 was running 11.00s on a full bolt on LT1 TA on a 175 shot. Theres a guy on here with a Comp TA, his car is stock motor and in the high 10s. LT1s take some serious nitrous abuse, they love it. I have buddies that are big in to nitrous, and every one is convinced they could get my cat back, converter and cold air LT1 in to the 11s on tires and skinnies on a 150 shot.

LOL who says a 150 shot won't put a stock LT1 into the 11s?

The fastest one on the net was Kurtis Tamez's 97! I personaly watched his stock with a 9in and cage go 11.5! at over 3,600Lbs race weight! basic bolt on's. headers CAI and a NX wet kit. I had the motor for a while when he took it out and it had never even had the valve covers off!

seems to me it was around the high tens on juice the LT1s start comeing aprt in grand fasshion

There are bolt on lt1's in the 11's. Doing some simple math with an M6 an lt1 will dyno at about 240RWHP. On a 150 shot being conservative it will hit 370RWHP. I see 11's without a doubt.

BTW about feeling it, a 150 shot of nitrous on a stock motor is like having a V12 LT1 without adding the weight I think you'll feel it.

I've got a 95 TA 6 speed right now that is bolted and im only spraying a 100 shot. it beat my freinds 01 SS with heads cam that put down 410 hp I pulled a car on him .If your trying to find out what kit to run I would go with Nitrous Express. Im running NX on mine and i'm very pleased. The car did 8.16 @ 91 mph 1/8 mile on slicks

Hmmm...all this talk about nitrous is making me want it even more! For a good set up, properly installed, how much should I plan on investing?
