Really nice car you have. I also have a 12bolt and was wondering what offset your rear Prostars were? 6.5 or 7.5?

Check out the Trick Flows. They have 64cc combustion chambers. I talked to a guy at Trick Flow, and he said these heads are nearly identical to the "Kenny Dutweiler" heads, only these work on an LT1. They're around $1300 complete, and around $850 bare.

I am using a set of Lloyd's heads with finish work done by Dave at Flow Technic's.

My Flow numbers are only 275/207. Car ran 11.85 with 3,750Lbs through an Auto and a 12 bolt.

This was a Stock 350 short block N/A of course. CR was right at 10.6:1

Default Advance Induction

Take a look at Advanced induction. http://www.advancedinduction.com They sell LT1 heads at great prices, and have a wide selection of heads to choose from. I think i'm going with them for my 383 LT1. Right now I have a 230/242 114, w/ stock heads, and running 12.5@113...so I can't wait to put a set of ported ones on. What do you think I will gain? I have just about every bolt on you can buy...

damn I thought my car @ 3700 lbs was FAT, the 12 bolt added a chunk of weight. Good 1/4 mi times with the weight you have, should put you a little over 400 rwhp.

I'm hoping for 415rwhp week after next. Considering a K-member in a couple months, then it's drag springs/shocks all the way around, all I have left for chassis is a Spohn Tq Arm, done the rest already. Mine should be able to crack mid 11s I hope...with drag tires/wheels yada yada.

For "on a budget" heads..... get ahold of PORT PROS (www.portpros.com). They have the best flow numbers at a low cost. My AFR 227 LT4 bare castings ported by them now flow over 315 @ 650 lift. Ask for Harold...tell him Tony sent ya and he will discount it.

How cares what the flow numbers and dyno numbers are. It is all about the track performance that matters. I have TEA LT1 heads and a hyd roller cam in the car. I do have flow numbers but didn't really care about them. THere are many ways to adjust a flow bench to make the numbers bigger. My car has went 10.98 @ 120. 1.442 60' and has since went 122.77mph just this past weekend. I know the car will go in the 10.80's before the year is over. Look at Steve Quinn, he is running LT1 heads and runs in the 9.70's. You don't have to spend 4K on heads to run fast. I might only have 4K in the whole motor.

Just my .02

I for one care about flow numbers which is vital to picking a cam selection. My old AFR 190 LT1 heads (flowed 285 @ 650) went 10.01 @ 133 mph (175 shot) and 10.82 @ 125 mph n/a. 3650 LBS and hydraulic cammed by the way. My new setup will be much faster. I guess it is just opinion...but flow numbers are very important!

I don't disagree that flow numbers and velocity numbers are VERY important when choosing a cam. But I always hear people stuck on flow numbers and dyno numbers rather than on the performance of the vehicle. Flow and dyno numbers sound great but if the car still runs like crap they are only good for bench racing. I know that my heads flowed 271 @ .600 int. and 230 @ .600 exh. I think that the exhaust number is a little high. But I have a flow sheet that says so. Another thing I see people doing is caring about highest flow number. I think it is way more important to look at the low and mid lift numbers. Think about it, the motor sees those number twice- once on valve open and once on valve closure.

Again just my .02

The manufacturer is not the best place to get comparison data, ONLY go to them for hard measurable details, otherwise you get the strict marketting department line, then even question measurable data on things easily manipulated like head flow. Things like cam specs you can trust a company on since that is 100% verifyable, head flow will change depending on MANY factors.

I am with Tony on this one. What everyone miss's is the last thing on the sheet.....AVERAGE horse power and Torque. I do not have the best peak numbers(A4 and 12 bolt mind you) but I usually have the best average HP/TQ numbers and that is where it counts I follow the same rules with my heads A dyno and a flow bench are very valuable tools IF you use them correctly

BTW my car would run tens to I wanted to gut the hell out of it I prefer to drive it to work

3700 lbs and you think fat? *laughs till I almost wet myself* Drive 4400+lbs though with me and a full tank of gas, pushing closer to 4800.... Then complain about fat. But someone mentioned 50 horses off JUST heads? No cam?
