LT4 heads
I have a chance to buy a set of LT4 heads off of a DPS engine from a ad in the paper. How do I tell LT4 heads apart from LT1 heads? Do I just measure the valve size are they taller, and also I wouldn't have to buy an LT4 intake manifold would I?

The intake runners are raised on the LT4 heads. If you set them side by side with an LT1 head, you will see that the top of the intake port is higher on the LT4 than the LT1. The valves on the LT4 valves are larger measuring 2" intake and 1.55" exhaust versus 1.94" intake 1.5" exhaust for the LT1.
You WILL have to buy an LT4 intake manifold. The raised intake runners on the heads won't match an LT1 intake manifold's runners.
