a few small problems with headers
Ok, a few small probs........the drivers side header is dangerously close to the fuel lines, anybody have this trouble? Did you just wrap the fuel lines or move them? Seems the safest thing to do would be to move them.
Drivers side floorboard gets a lil warm now, not enough room for any kind of heat shield, dont know what to do about that.
Dead miss now, SES was actually flashing at me quite angrily. lol I think it's a dead spark plug.
Also, when I go to OReily auto parts to get a LT4 knock sensor what exactly do I tell them I want? Like the year of the car and so forth.
I dont have O2 sims yet, the O2 sensors are just hanging there right now, what will this do to the car til I can get some? Will it hurt it? Does anybody know if you can delete the rear O2 sensors with LT1Edit? And can you delete the AIR and EGR with LT1Edit?
Sorry for so many questions but the trans went out in my truck sat and there my car set with just headers on it so I had to get it up and running quick just to have some wheels.
Driver side floor board getting warm? Hmm... well, I basically run open headers through the exhaust and never experienced this.
Sorry, can't help with the LT4 knock sensor. What's wrong with the LT1 knock sensor (unless you happen to have an LT4 motor)?
If your SES light is blinking, it's more than just a dead spark plug.
O2 sensors monitor unburned oxygen is in the exhaust as the exhaust exits the engine. It's a way of gauging the air/fuel mixture. It tells the computer if you're engine is running rich or lean. There are other sensors that monitor air/fuel but the o2's are the masters. The problems you can run into by not using an O2 sensor or sensors are driveability problems, increased fuel consumption, and emissions problems (this consequently, causes numerous other problems such as "soot" coated exhaust pipes, "soot" coated spark plugs (which causes no spark), running rich all the time, and eventually engine damage). Try to get them in as soon as you can.
You can delete whatever you want with LT1 Edit. But, before you do, make sure that you are willing to accept the responsibility and all the consequences that come with changing the way your computer functions.
The exhaust sorta has a "pop" to it when you really get down on it, like an old farm truck with straight pipes. lol(that's the best example I could think of) I know when you change the timing on a vehicle it'll change the sound of the exhaust some too, did anybody notice a change in the tone of the exhaust after they messed with the timing, wether it was with the LT4 knock module or actually going in the computer and advancing the timing?? Just curious about that.
Can I buy an old LT1EDIT software or are they VIN number locked?
