Just wondering I bought and LT-1 recently and I am getting my heads reworked by TPIS and going with a 235-240 duration cam with about .590 lift. Wondering if the stock bottom end needs to have a valve relief on the pistons.

The stock pistons actually have 4 valve reliefs in them, a mirror image on either side of the piston.
But, you should be fine provided that you don't have the heads milled. On a stock LT1 about the most lift you would want to go would be .600. If you have the heads milled, start checking clearances.
