Yeah I think it is true..... Which is why I changed my big thumper plans to include a Dart block versus the LT1.... Rick doing it is bad as sh*t but nobody can expect a production block to be able to handle that much power for very long regardless of internals.... It's too bad that Chevy doesn't make say a Bowtie LT1 block..... Like Ford Motorsport does with the 5 liter A4 block..... Would be nice to have a production race piece that is still reverse cooled and with the LT1 quirks..... The LS1 guys have it with the C5R block but we were not that lucky.... oh well....
Still the record stands at 8.35 which is still fast as all getup..... It'll probably stand for years.....

Yes, LT1 went boom boom. But hey, we know it could happen right? Things are so torn up we really have not idea WHAT happened, but a new motor is already being created, and hopefully we'll have her back up and running shortly. So this gives the LS1 guys the chance to get to the 7's first. But they better do it fast, because when we're back up and running, we're headed straight for them!!

Chuck are you guys thinking about another LT1?!?!?!?! Reason i ask is because I'm doing a big thumper setup only i've decided to not use the LT1 to avoid blowing it up due to power levels.... So i've settled on a Dart block with a 4.030 bore and a 4.00" stroke using 18 degree trick flow heads.... Are you guys going to use a race block or try and better the LT1 record????
if you're using another LT1 block I need an application to come work at HPE cause I'm not making enough money!!!

None of those cars were cranking 1500hp either AFAIK..... that dyno sheet said 1248 to the wheels right???? Give or take a few..... Well punch that into the old calculator assuming it's a high stall Glide losing about 22% to the wheels.... That's like 1500+...... mucho power.....
You guys have guts that's for sho..... And deep pockets....

Sweet! My plan for the 427 18* motor include a Bowtie block. There were rumors of limited LT1 bowties but I have yet to find one. This year I am coming back with an LT1 also. The only guy around with an LS1 that could touch me sold it so I will push the bar anyways Not as fast as the guys at HPE but a low ten second slip is on my list. The wish list includes a 9 sec slip
Give Rick our condolances and more importantly our cheers!
