The calculators let you know where the geatr will run out they do not take into account wether you have enough HP to push wind at those speeds.

You're correct in that statement, but for all practical purposes, just about any 4th gen over 350rwhp should be able to eclipse the 170mph mark (gearing allowed) due to their low frontal area and CD. Hell, bone stock 4th gen LT1 cars routinely surpass 150mph.

I've read about guys calculating 7% torque converter slip into their speed calculations. Isn't the converter locked during a top speed run?
