Default O2 on a catted y

My question is this, If I bought the kooks stepped headers and then bought their catted y as well, I wouldn't need to use the rear o2's right? I could just put sims on the rear ones and not even have the rear plugs?

You are correct. The rear O2 sensors are used to monitor the catalytic converter. Since you don't have cats, you can hook up O2 sims. You can pickup a pair from Summitt Racing for abou $80.

I would still have cats though, just new hi-flo ones on the the new y...should I still use the sims?

You CAN still use ur O2 sensors but i think ud be better off just using the sims just incase the hiflow cats aren't working well enough so u dont throw codes, either way performance wont be effected since the rear O2's control nothing except they just show if ur cats are working or not

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were going without cats. I agree with Whtlt1, buy some and use them anyway.

Yes you can delete the 02 sensor check with a program like LT1edit.

got another question about this again, hehe, sorryg guys. I read somewhere that you'd want the 02 bungs for some type of dyno testing using wideband (I've got no clue what that is). Is this true, is there any reason to keep the rear O2 bungs?

U could keep rear O2 bungs if u'd like but u should at least have the ones on the headers for dyno testing so they can hook up the O2 sensor for rich/lean readings. But the rear one there truly is no reason for, so save urself some money and dont have it even put it!
