Default Valeo, Exedy, or Ram clutch?

Im 17 and just bought an LT1. I love my car but don't have the money for mods and want a clutch for a slightly moded car just in case. (bought the car with the clutch slipping). Which of these three would be the best for me. I'm thinking Exedy because it comes with a one year/12,000 mile warranty, and is cheaper than the Ram hdx. Is it worth it to buy a more expensive clutch like a SPEC stage 2 or 3 or will one of these three work fine for me? Any help is greatly appreciated my car still has a 30 day tag on it and I want to put a new clutch on it fast so I can drive it. Basically i just want to know that these clutches aren't crap and will give me a whole mess of problems.

A Spec stage 1 or 2 would probably be just fine for you.

I don't if they're still available.. But there used to be a company called RPS that made a clutch for the LT1's called a turbo clutch. I had one and it engaged just like stock.. Held great under nitrous, and shifted like butter. I had no problems powershifting w/ it... Not compared to my aggressive Spec stage 4 at least.

my car made it into the 12's with a valeo clutch and i cant say anything bad about it. it has almost 60,000 miles on the clutch now and i dont feel any slippage when driving it hard.

this sounds like a great clutch, i found one that says its a Vibe 1.8L 1ZZ & 2ZZ
Part #: SS-22549-SP
i didn't see anything about being for LT1's but it says its for pontiacs. I think this is what i am looking for, is it smooth with everyday use?

im surprised to hear the valeo held up that well. Is the valeo the stock clutch with a little extra holding power?

Thanks guys this was very helpful. They both sound like what im looking for.

my grand father is friends with one of the local rebuilders here in memphis and he ordered it for me. you should be able to order one from like napa or carquest or some other parts place. mine is basically a stock replacement but it has a little stiffer springs in the pressure plate to help holding power. i drove it everday for 3 years without a problem, had a little more pedal than the stock but was liveable.

I have a Mcleod single disk and pressure plate and love it. The pedel feels like stock and engages firm. It has never slipped on me either.

Go spec and you wont regret it. When I had the 6spd in i Had a spec 3 in there and it was great!! Nice smooth but aggressive engagements and no slipping.

I also had a spec stage 3 and was easy to drive with for the time that I had a T56 car.

im sure spec stage 3's are great clutches but i just wanted something that won't grip THAT much. The valeo is basically the stock clutch and my LT1 will remain mostly stock so i think it will work great. Since the 10 bolt rear ends are weak I don't want any chance of shattering it with a super grippy clutch anyway.
