Question GM847 cam?

I've decided to go with the 847 because I've read nothing but good things about it but I have a few ?'s you guys might be able help me out with. I know I'm going to have to tune the PCM to work with the new cam but are there any other parts I need to replace/modify to get everything working right and see the most gains? I've already got slp intake and exhaust along with hooker headers and an offroad y-pipe. Any info will be very helpful.

You WILL need to have your heads done. There's one personal on CZ28 who is getting some good #'s / times with stock heads but you are just wasting that cam with stock heads.

You'll need to beef up your valvetrain along with the headwork ie springs, lifters, pushrods, etc.

Auto or manual? If auto you'll want a higher stall. I have a 3200 which flashes a little higher and puts me right in the sweet spot and she pulls past redline.

having your heads ported isnt a MUST. Like you said atljar put down 352 and ran 11.9 with stock heads. But having them done certainly wouldnt hurt. If you were gonna spend that much tho, i would consider looking into some custom cams or a Lloyd Elliot package.

Dang. I will remember that

The cam was fine with my un-ported heads but did really shine after they were ported.

I have been running a 3,800 Yank since 01
