Default 95 z28 4500$?

a buddy has a 95 z28,bone stock motor, just catback exhaust,no headers, crane ignition, auto tranny and a 9 inch diff with 373 and detroit locker,a/c and fuel gauge not working,it has ttops and weld prostars,4500$ firm,i drove it and all i found weird was that it would bang a little when going from park to reverse or reverse to drive but i never had a z28 and i dont know if it's common, and automatic and stock it still felt stong,so what do you guys think?good deal or not it,has like 112k miles.

sounds like a good deal to me.
the noise might be some slack in the diff from worn gears.
but still sounds like a good start for you!

Stock motor and a 9"? Strange. Was it converted back to stock or something?

I think it would be a good deal if you are a new buyer, but it depends on what you really want. If you are buying thinking you might have to dump some money in to it, it would be perfect. It might need some work but if you buy it and the tranny goes you will have to spend, lets say 2,000 max, your total investment would be 6,500, which is not bad. Like POIK said it is probably just worn gears, from your description it is hard to pinpoint the problem if there is any.
