If you removed your EGR system you will have massive vacuum leaks if you don't block the holes. So, yes, you need block off plates.

The whole EGR system is still in the car, but it was deleted from the computer via LT1 edit...... I use the hawk as a daily driver, and it has been without the block off plate since i put the LTs in about 6 months ago......

So am i losing HP b/c of this..... or not really?????

If the EGR port in the back of the intake manifold is open you are sucking in a ton of air that isn't metered. You'll run lean and then computer will dump a ton of fuel to try and compensate for the lean condition.

I recently removed all the egr stuff from my engine except for the piece in the back since its not hurting to leave it hooked up. I dont see any difference in the way the car runs, just the 'service engine soon' lamp since I disconnected and removed the airpump from the front of the engine. I mainly did it for looks and to make a little more space. Umm... I'm not the expert but, as long as you plug whatever holes you leave and vacuum lines it should be alright.

Hmmm that makes me curious....I have pretty much the exact mods u do (a few more goodies) And i was thinking about getting a wideband 02 (i have a autometer A/F gauge now but its junk and doesn't tell me anything) I Heard that tuner cat is comming out with its obd2 version for lt1 cars very soon, so we will see.
