Default EGR and AIR, A/C removal

Will removing these really shave that much weight off??? What would i need to do this on a 94 z28??? Any performance gains by doing so???

I was also thinking about removing the compressor and the accesorry brackets and relocating the alternator to the bottom of the block and just run a single belt to power it. Any one done this yet like the old style cars??? Any big gains off of this??

I just got rid of the EGR and AIR because I was doing LTs install and just took em off. I highly doubt you see any performance gains at all by removing them....

The main thing in removing the EGR and AIR is to "clean up" the engine bay and give you a little more room to work with which is always good in a fbody. The AC removal is normally done for more of a race car that needs to shave a few pounds but also frees up some room too. The gains of removing the EGR and AIR are not noticable and the gains from the AC removal is again the weight savings as well as less "drag" on the crank from the belt but again, you arent gonna see much if any power from either.

Def no performance gains at all, save maybe a few pounds but that's it. It really cleans up the bay though.

i fugured. but its a track only ride. so do i need to get the computer programed to delete all of that stuff, or will it be fine by itself???
last question, would an electric water pump help save a few ponies getting the old pump off of the cam letting it spin freely???
