Default Exhaust Question Something New I Think

I was wondering if you could run an LS1 Cat-back, or y-pipe on an LT1? and if you can't why not? just asking because I heard the Bassani cat-back on an LS1 and it sounds awesome, I know LT1's sound different but it should still sound very good if not better

U can run the cat-back but not the y-pipe. Completly different set-up...

SLP sells a conversion kit for the catback. I'm not sure exactly what it includes, or if it is even needed, but you may want to check it out.

i believe that slps "conversion" just includes hangers and stuff....... just take to a muffler shop and let them take care of it...

just get the bassani cat back then. if your a 93-95 you may have to find a way to connect up the that ypipe as its different than the 96-97 ones. but all 96 and up fbodies have the same catback. the hangers maybe a little different, but aftermarket systems usually adress that problem.

if you have a stock exhaust you won't need the slp conversion, all it is are the stock hangers and a slightly different one on the drivers side.

Yeah, the hangers are different on the LS1's, and if you have single cat-LT1, then you will need an S-pipe that connects the LS1 catback to the LT1 y-pipe (the LS1 and dual-cat LT1's have a y-pipe that is a bit off-center compared to the single-cat LT1's ).
