Default lowering kits

I'm thinking of getting a 1.5"-2" lowering kit (eibach or something) and to get it done at a shop would be like $550 but if I get the kit myself it will be about $250. Is the extra $300 just for work or is something else invovled? Would it still be cheaper to do the extra stuff myself or should I just take it in? Thanks.

the rear is easy to install....its the front thats a biotch......you have to rent spring compressors and remove the entire spring shock assembly as one then change the spring and reinstall (and its still not that hard). for 300 i would do it myself..thats too much money

Where are you located? Ill do it for $299.

Like 00Z-28-LT1 said, the fronts arent easy but they arent hard enough to pay $300 to do. There are plenty of writeups on the install so just do some research and dig in when you have the time.

Some places will change the springs on your front assembly for like $15 each side if you bring in the assembly.

It all depends on how much skill you have in installing it. Me, I personally like the do it yourself method but for some people its just easier to pay, less responsibility and less stress....Its mostly always cheaper to do it yourself

yeah i agree... it's also funner to do it yourself. I only take it to a shop when i can't do it myself. Also, if i drop it 1.75" will i have to worry about a caster/camber kit?
