Default Super low budget 377?

Just wondering if...... I have a low mileage LT1 that has absolutely no sealing problems in the cylinder area and does not need rebuilt. I hardly drive the car and will never wear it out. I also dont intend to turn it into a high revving monster. Can I take it apart, clearance the block and reinstall a stroker crank utilizing the original pistons, rings and rods to create a 377 for next to nothing? Or is the pin position in the piston wrong?

if you are using stock rods you should be fine. shouldnt even have to deck the block. I would just change the main bearings, and put the new crank in if its balanced.

Ok somebody set me straight on what excatly a 377 is? I was under the impression that a 377 was when you de-stroke a 400 cubic inch engine with a 350 crank. will someone shed light on this? if so that would make it imposible to turn an lt1 into a 377.

A 377 is what you get if you use a 383 crank but dont bore it before you put it in. It is also what you get if you destroke a 400 but that is not what I was talking about. I have thought more about this, wouldnt the longer stroke push the piston too far up in the bore if I used the stock pistons and rods? Seems like I would need either a shorter rod or a different piston. Probably defeating my whole low low budget idea.
