a4 to m6 swap question.
Does anybody have know any working links that list all the parts necessary for a4 to m6 tranny swap and also details the procedure and even includes some pics. I was wondering how you would get the top bolts out of the tranny. I already saw the thread in the transmission section, but I was wondering if it would be a little diff. for a 93.

hey dont feel bad im putting a T56 in my Caprice. i got over 24 hrs of work to look forward to. but this is not my first tranny uninstall/reinstall.
the computer is easy on OBD 1 computers and cheap i think i will have less than $100 on mine. a '93 not sure about but there are companies that have cables for less than $50 and then the computer tune from companies is like $50. but this is if you do it yourself.

You will still need the computer tuned if you want he speedo to be accurate, but the 93's had a 4l60 with a tv cable not an electronicaly shifted 4l60e, someone also makes a vss gear for the t56 with has the right amount of teeth to match the auto. it could be easier and cheaper to change that gear. all camaro lt1 t56's have the same essential components. although in 93 the gear ratio's where different, they had lower gears.

AFAIK the putting a 94-97 t56 in would require you to use some sort of a device to change the VSS output. It may be possible with a gear, I've just never heard of that before.
In my opinion, the price for the kit posted above is pretty steep. It is nice to have a new clutch and a rebuilt tranny, but it's only a spec stage 1 and a stock rebuild.
