Default Cutouts??

I have cash in hand to buy long tube headers and really want to buy cutouts but does anyone have any sound/video clips of cars with cutouts so I can hear the difference. Also would just before the cat be the best place to put the cutout?

I'd tack the the cutout right onto the end of the LT...definitely before the cats... I don't know of any specifc ones, but ls1sounds.com has lots of clips that are pretty good, some are lt1's. Good luck... BTW, I'd recommend Kooks LT's from Scoggin Dickies ...

When i had my 97 lt1, I had a cc305 on 112, hooker longtubes, no cats and a 3 inch cutout and a flowmaster. I NEVER put the cap on after the cutout was put on. The only time that it was on was when my mechanice would put it on when he was working on it. Came off as soon as i left.

hmm theres only one thing i can say about how those cars sound

you've convinced me that I definatley need to get long tube headers and a cutout.
also i'll proboly gut out my cat depending on how loud the cutouts are.

are electronic cutouts worth the extra money? if they sound as badass as i think they do then i doubt they'll ever be closed

i personally like the electric cutouts. i like the fact that you can open and close them from the convenience of inside the car. it would really be up to you though as to wether or not its worth the extra money. if your like some of these guys who would leave them open almost all the time, why get an electric? or if you only plan on using the cutout just at the track, again, no point in getting electric. if you'd like to have a semi-sleeper mode going on down the highway and wait until that ricer revs on you and you smile back as you flip the cutout switch to open...then electric is the way to go .
