Here are a couple more pics. These are of the wiring. No, I did not use the painless kit for the engine or the car itself. All handmade by myself. All that I reused from the original was the plugs for sensors and such.

These are of the fuel cell. I still have to build a firewall seperating the passenger and driver from the fuel cell, but since I won't be racing it this year, I don't have to worry about that right now. You can see the wiring panel in these pics as well. The wiring is seperated from the fuel cell just in case.

That is ALOT of relays.

As for the dash..... Well, I'm not crazy about millions of gauges. Maybe put in some really nice gauges for the typical stuff (speed, RPM, temp, battery) and then have a small computer, running auto tap, setup with an in dash screen to monitor anything else you so desire. Just an idea.
You said the engine is pretty much stock with headers... are you running with cats? Y-pipe or dual? Another interior suggestion, if your not using the space under that hump on the passenger side.... elminate the hump. It's something I would love to do to mine some day.
Ah well, just thought I'd throw up some ideas that came to mind if your looking for that sorta thing. It's a great looking job you've got there and that time is awsome for a stock LT1. Good luck with whatever is next!

Thanks for the comments. I did go a little overboard on the gauges and two of them are not even in use right now because I don't have a N2O wet system, but someday I will. If I were to do it over I probably would do something different but I bought all those years ago when I liked overboard. Now my tastes have changed a little bit but I spent a ton of money on them so I am not going to change things now.
I don't like the hump on the pass side either but I never sit on that side so it doesn't bother me that much. I am running Hooker long tubes and no cats so that is a possiblility in the future. (Good Idea)
As far as the relays go, yes, it is alot but that is because of the stupid GM reverse polarity for the windows and the locks. 6 relays are required just to make those work.

You know I've been watchin this post and reading wat everyone has to say so I'm finally going to say something. That is AWESOME! That took a ton of skill on the wiring department to make up ur own wiring for EVERYTHING! mad props! Now start modding that thing!

Hey man awsome job on the whole car in general. What has me just floored it the engine bay and fuel cell. Those two departments are just plain sweet. About the intake manifold what did you paint it with and how. Just curious. Im looking to get my intake black as well and I really like it a lot. Congrats on the good job man.

The intake is smoothed with a die grinder and dremel. It is not perfectly smoothed but pretty damn close. All I did was had it primed and painted with engine paint I got at Autozone. It is Gloss Black. I also cleared the crap out of it. I used to have it powder coated but I figured I would give this a try. As long as you try to smooth as much as possible, the gloss black turns out pretty good. If you don't want to bother with smoothing it (trust me, it is alot of bother) then use the semi-gloss and then clear it.

Thanks for the tips man. I might try to smooth it but that does sound time comsuming. I really cant have the intake off that long because i dont want to leave the motor exposed too long, but it is worth a shot.

Why don't you do this. Buy one from a junk yard. That way you have all the time in the world to get er done. Your car won't be down for anytime at all then. Pick up a couple of street rod magazines too. The old timers really know what they are doing when it comes to customizing. You can get lots of cool engine compartment ideas from them.

I have about 3 weeks to wait till my heads are done so i am going to try to see what i can do between that time. I am also thinking of doing some type of polished aluminum piece that will cover the top of the intake and make it look smooth clear across the top. Then with the high gloss black that should look good. Thanks.
