transmission question This weekend i put new hooker long tubes, ypipe, opti, wires, plugs, and a spec stage 3 clutch. When i pulled the trans out there was a small metal thing (possibly a spacer) between the flywheel and the block, well I forgot to put it in!! Is this a big deal. When we done my friends 97 SS his did not even have one. So I dont know what to do. THen second There is a code 1661 that keeps coming up on my car. I have no idea what this is do you? let me know

What came from behind ur flywheel was a shim,a good shop will install these after the flywheel is cut to restore pedal height and to keep everything in check. Did you replace the flywheel also? if u did you won't need it. Did you get it cut before you put the new clutch in? (you def.should have) If you did than your flywheel is on its second cut and "should" have an even thicker shim in it. Just go by how the pedal "feels" to you. As far as the the code,did u pull the ses bulb out (if poss.) or disconnect the cluster? That could poss. make that code come on.
