cc306 with stock heads will a 96 lt1 work well with the cc306/ cc valve train / and stock heads? 6spd with lt's--how hard is it to tune?---

Many have done this and had good results. I used to have a 97 w/the 305 in it. I wish i would have went bigger sometimes. A set of 4.10s should help the driveability of the 306, ofcourse, there are some good xe cams that are in between the 305 and 306 that should be great also. The 306 will need some tuning but it has been done many times before. I ran my 305, longtubes, 1.6 rr etc all on the stock tune for about 2 weeks and had no probs but it def. ran better w/the new tune. I think a 306 size cam, tuning will be necessary from the start, someone correct me if im wrong.
yes it can certainly be done but the valvetrain must be up to the task of course. As far as tuning goes, mail order tunes can get close, but the idle and part throttle is important and I suggest a dyno tune for it. It will run but run like junk with no programming. If your spending the money, might as well get the most out of it.
