-Lifters -- like Brett95z stated above, you can risk running the Comp R's, or go with Comp's factory SBC replacement. I chose the latter. Seem to have a lot of Comp R failures.
-Timing chain -- you're limited as far as timing sets go because of your 1994 unvented optispark. If you swap the rest of the parts over to a 1995 setup (opti, wiring harness, timing cover, etc), then you have more options. Put in an electric waterpump with that, and you can run any 1987+ SBC timing set. I'm running an $80 Cloyes double-roller -- no complaints whatsoever.
Otherwise, you're looking at either freshening it up with a new stock 1994 timing set, go after the $400 1992-1994 Cloyes, or dish out for the $550 Doug Rippie 1992-1994 timing set. I can get you the links if you are interested, but something tells me you aren't.
I wouldn't personally trust Summit's cheapo Lunati timing set. Not sure if they even make it anymore.
