Default you all are modding useless cars

https://ls1tech.com/forums/racer-s-lounge/294419-does-lt1-even-have-use-anymore.html

hell we use to be the under dog, now we are just plain useless, man thing are looking bad for us. We cant compete with them SRT4s, damn those STIs and EVOs. So Joe Overton time to throw in the towel, it aint worth it no more. Tim, might as well trade that ol six speed in on a boat and Ricky forget 7s, swap in a LS1. This post should be great, I'm sure that the bad *** free mod guys will get there LT1 bashing sticks out. I heard we need a 200 shot to break 13s, is that true? I also heard the Lt1 has no possibilty of ever being modified, like all the bolts are welded on so its impossible to mod. I enjoy these posts, they are almost as good as the LT1 Vs LS1 posts that we rarley ever get to see.

Well I'll be damned, I just ordered a bunch of parts for mine. Maybe I can sell them on ebay and get some money toward gettin' an LS1. What about all these GEN1 motors I got sittin' around? Please don't tell me they are worthless junk too??? I shoulda tried to trade with that guy that had the WRX at the track last weekend after I showed him my tail lights time and time again.

Sure the lil imports are better than the LT1. You can mod them and mod them until they max out and run so fast...low 12's. And then you have to worry about the trannys crapping out. Whoaaa, thats impressive but I think Ill stick with my worthless LT1.

When talking power adder ..its who can shove enuff boost or jet up.... However when talking foundation of a factory base engine and what really tells the story on whats superior, which is naturally aspirated ....The smaller, less headed ,low technology (lol) lt1 kicked the nay sayers square in the nuts 2004.....and the best of the best is still chasing the low tech lt1 into 2005...I know full well, I wear the bulls eye...
I've dealt with lt1 haters for years...most people get upset over post as the one listed..I thrive on them, bring on the pain baby I'm numb to the hate... what is more sweeter than taking something that people down so much and making a statement with it....THEN you can say NOW WHAT??? hate only feeds the fury!!!!

Couldn't have said that any better Joe.

No reason to get upset and riled up, just laugh and know that talk is cheap. Put your damn money where your mouth is and let's line'em up where excuses are like azzholes and there's no more time for keyboard strokin'. I'm anxious to see what the LT1's are gonna do this year as we've got some nice representation.

Yeah that POS LT1 of mine. I shoulda got an srt-4 after I swapped the ws6 out a few months ago. OHH wait a minute this old new 97' bitch is paid for. IT seems like its better to spend money on mods than car payments. Sorry ls1 guys looks like the old lt1 stays.

but you have to give the imports some kind of credit.....i mean their performance stor is bigger then any LT1/LS1 stor.....EBAY, man they can spend like....100 bucks and get a box full of high performance stuff that will make them run 10s, like mufflers, ground lights and other cooool stuff : )

Lets see, I've owned my (paid) LT1 for over 2 years now
and have never had to add a drop of oil in between oil changes,
checking the level weekly. 65k miles.

But, the engine is otherwise crap? Yeah

If you're and enthusiast and race at any sanctioned event, you have my respect - I don't care what you drive. To say that the LT1 is past it's prime doesn't understand internal combustion engines. The LT1 is the perfect candidate to modify and race because it is so affordable and there is still an awesome aftermarket for it.

The potential of the LS1 and the LT1 is damn near identical - us LT1 guys just have to work at it a little bit harder.
